Christmas at the Dairy

Welcome

We’ve visited Christmas markets for years, in Germany, the United States, Sweden, and other countries where we’ve lived and travelled. Somewhere along the way, we began dreaming of having a Christmas market of our own.

We lived abroad for 20 years. Matt is from Texas, and Katja is from Paimio, Finland. When we finally moved back to Finland, we brought a dream with us: to find a place in the countryside where we could live, invite friends over, and perhaps even host our own Christmas market.

Then we found Tuohitun Meijeri.

Cheese was once made here, and the space where our kitchen is today used to be the dairy store. In the courtyard stands the old cheesemaker’s red house, which looks almost like Santa’s cottage, along with two barns. The moment we saw one of them, we thought: this would be the perfect place for a Christmas market.

Now we’d love to welcome you here. Whether you live nearby or are coming from further away, you’re invited.

For our family, Christmas is about being together. Having lived in different countries, we’ve experienced many different Christmas traditions. We know that Christmas looks different for different families and around the world. Everyone is welcome here, with their own traditions and just as they are.
